Reshika’s Pear & Baby Marrow Soup


  • 6 baby marrows (sliced)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 4 forelle pears
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped shallot
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 125ml plain yoghurt
  •  5ml coriander powder
  • 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • 5ml cumin powder
  • 2 green chillies (sliced)
  • water


  1. Place baby marrows, onions, pears, lemon juice, shallot, sugar, coriander powder, cumin powder, and chillies in a medium size pot.
  2. Pour just enough water into the pot to just cover the ingredients
  3. Bring to boil on a high heat
  4. Once it has come to the boil reduce heat and simmer for approximately 15 minutes until ingredients are soft
  5. Transfer to a blender and blend until smooth consistency
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste
  7. add the yoghurt and blend until mixed
  8. serve as desired with bread of your choice
